The switch was not an exact replacement, but I was able to make it work. The original switch had a longer length getting it closer to the foot pedal for easier switching. The original switch also had metal threads so they are more durable than the plastic threads. Finally, the original switch thread body was flat on either side and fit into the same shaped hole in the vacuum cleaner. The replacement is round and I had to file the hole in the vacuum cleaner body open to get it to fit while trying to avoid destroying the plastic threads. I'd find a better replacement if possible.
